6 Snapchat tricks you might not know about
Snapchat is a powerful tool right now. Why? There are more than 150 million active users each month. You read that correctly…one-hundred-and-fifty-million sets of human eyes.
Here’s 6 Snapchat tricks you might not know about.
Note: Make sure you’re on the latest version of Snapchat before attempting these Snapchat tricks, otherwise they might not work!
6 Snapchat tricks
1.) You can make your videos fast-forward, go in slow motion, or even rewind.
Snapchat recently added this new feature. These features work just like a filter, so: record the video first and then swipe sideways to find them.
Here’s how they work:
Snail = slow motion
Rabbit = fast-forward
Arrows = rewind
2.) You can write/draw in black and white
While using Snapchat’s drawing tool you may notice that you can’t access black and white as color options. There is a trick to use black and white!
In order to use black and white all you have to do is instead of dragging up or down on the color platte you instead drag toward bottom right corner of your screen — to use black or you’ll need to drag towards the upper left corner in order to use white.
Have fun with this! Not a lot of people know how to use black and white since it’s not an explicit option.
3.) Resize your text to fit perfectly on a line
This is one of my favorite snapchat tips because I was frustrated for a long time with how ugly my text would look when it didn’t fit perfectly on a line.
You can resize your text now so it fits neatly in a single line.
In order to do this all you have to do is:
a.) tap the “T” icon
b.) tap the text
c.) use two fingers to pinch-and-zoom to resize it
d.) span it to the width of your screen and enjoy
4.)Memories (Upload pictures/videos from the camera roll)
This is a really new feature to Snapchat, and a really handy one for small businesses and artists.
Before this update you had to take a picture, or a video live ( you could always take a picture of a picture if you really wanted — but you lose a lot of quality). Now with Snapchat Memories you can upload a picture or a video from the past.
You’ll notice when you do this that a large white border surrounds your Snap so that it is obvious it is a memory and not an in the moment Snap.
5.) Play music during your video
If you want to add to the feel of your video with sound it is pretty simple to add music to your video. To do so just play the song or audio clip through a music app on your phone — iTunes and Spotify work well for this while you record the video.
6.) Draw perfectly even or super-fine lines
The trick to doing this is to use an ipad. On an iPad you’re able to sketch fine lines that would be impossible to achieve on any smartphone. Using a stylus can help with advanced snap lines and art.
